G2F MEDIA CONTINUES ITS ASSOCIATION WITH SSDT
G2F Media’s sister company Sport 7 is ready to deliver its biggest event of 2018.
The countdown to TrialGP Great Britain is very much underway as the sport is set to return to its homeland and one of the most iconic and revered venues in the country. Addingham Moorside, set on the hillside overlooking the famous Yorkshire town of Silsden, with its huge granite boulders will play host to the penultimate event of the series on 1st - 2nd September. Record breaking Toni Bou - Repsol Honda has a strong chance of capturing his twelfth consecutive title in what used to be Dougie Lampkin‹s very own playground when he was the dominant force in World Trial.
Whilst Lampkin will be present during the first weekend in September to witness the World‹s best riders do battle in his hometown, he will look to the likes of James Dabill - Beta and Jack Price - Gas Gas in the blue ribbon TrialGP class to keep the British flag flying high amongst the strong field of foreign contenders from as far afield as Japan and Australia.
In the Trial2 class, that now also holds full World Championship status, there will be plenty of riders for the home fans to get behind with Toby Martyn - Montesa currently a close second in the general standings and with a real hope of taking the title. Martyn will be joined by the Peace brothers - Dan and Jack - Gas Gas in fighting for top honours on home soil, with Dan having taken the win last time out in Portugal in this fiercely competitive division, where anyone of ten riders is capable of victory on their day.
TrialGP Great Britain will also have the honour of hosting the closing event of the 2018 Women‹s series, with Britain‹s reigning TrialGP Women World Champion Emma Bristow - Sherco hoping to wrap her fifth gold medal in a row in front of her home fans. The Trial2 Women‹s title will also be decided at the iconic Yorkshire Trial venue.
Speaking about this important forthcoming event TrialGP Championship Director Jake Miller said. "We are really excited about bringing the series to this great Trial venue and one that has so much history. Over the last six months we have been working with various authorities to put all the provisions in place to ensure it is an unmissable and memorable weekend for all motorcycle fans."
"Local road closures and a one-way system, which will be clearly signed, will mean that visitors will have easy access to the main car parking area that is immediately opposite the Trial venue, with the paddock now having been relocated to a more suitable area nearby."
"The compact and hillside nature of Addingham Moorside means that spectators will easily be able to follow from section to section as the drama unfolds during Sunday‹ main Trial. But remember there is a full weekend of action planned, with head course designer Ben Hemingway already plotting what promises to be the most exciting qualification section of the series to date for Saturday‹s packed programme that includes official practice plus Q1 and Q2."
Miller ended by explaining. "Far from being a sales pitch, as part of the event plan we have had to agree a limited crowd capacity with the local authority, and whilst we are confident that this will not impact on the overall event we would strongly recommend that visitors take full advantage of the discounted advance tickets that are already on sale."
"Everything is in place to create a weekend that could rival the huge success of the events we delivered at Hawkstone Park over a decade ago, and that remain amongst the best the series has seen in its forty-year existence, so make sure you don‹t miss out in being part of British Trial history."
